Formed in 1990 in Trollhättan, Sweden, around vocalist Johan Lindstrand, The Crown are one of the best-known names in melodic death metal. The band's doom and thrash metal influences spice up their often rebellious, anti-religious albums. His career got off to a perfect start with the albums Burning (1995) and Eternal Death (1997), considered models of the genre. However, The Crown's career began to falter with the release of Possessed 13 (2003), a redemptive album. After breaking up in 2004, The Crown returned in 2010 with the hard-hitting Doomsday King. The band celebrates its 25th anniversary with Death Is Not Dead, released in January 2015.
