Callenish Circle, a Dutch melodic death metal band from Sittard-Geleen, was formed in 1992 by Patrick Savelkoul and Jos Evers under the name Genocide. They began their career covering songs from bands like Death and Pestilence. The band's first demo, Lovelorn, released in 1995 under the new name Callenish Circle, caught the attention of Hammerheart Records, leading to the release of their debut album, Drift of Empathy. After parting ways with Hammerheart, they released an EP titled Escape via Polar Bear Records in 1998. In 2002, they signed with Metal Blade Records and released Flesh Power Dominion, followed by extensive touring with bands like Vomitory and Amon Amarth. Following a series of lineup changes and the release of albums such as My Passion // Your Pain (2003) and Pitch Black Effects (2005), they held their final concert on March 10, 2007, before disbanding.
