Stacey Pullen is an American techno musician and DJ based in Detroit, Michigan. He began his career in the early 1990s, working on Detroit's techno scene and studying under Derrick May. Pullen released his first EP, Bango, in 1992 under the pseudonym Bango. Throughout his career, he used various aliases including Kosmik Messenger, X-Stacy, and Silent Phase. In 1995, he released (The Theory of) as Silent Phase on Transmat Records. Pullen's album Todayisthetomorrowyouwerepromisedyesterday, released in 2001 on Science, showcased a jazz and funk-infused sound. His incorporation of house and garage elements into techno was cited to be an influence on later electronic artists.
