Thundermug was a Canadian rock band from London, Ontario, that was active between 1970 and 2001. The ensemble was founded by the vocalist Joe de Angelis, the guitarist Bill Durst, the bassist James Corbett, and the drummer Ed Pranskus. They achieved early professional momentum with their debut studio album, Thundermug Strikes (1972), which featured the Canadian Top 40 hit “Africa”. Their discography includes the studio recording Orbit (1973), with a title track that reached number 50 in Canada, and the album Ta-Daa (1974). Following the departure of de Angelis in 1975, the ensemble performed as a trio before becoming inactive in 1976. The group reunited in 1991 and released the studio recordings Who's Running My World (1995) and Bang the Love Drum (1997). In 2006, the ensemble was inducted into the London Music Hall of Fame.
