Hailing from Reading, The Leaf Library are a band known for their atmospheric, repetitive post-rock / dream pop / ambient style, often described as "electric drone pop" or "blissful dream pop". Formed in 2004 by Kate Gibson (vocals), Matthew Ashton (ex-Saloon member, guitar, electronics), Gareth Bult (bass, electronics) and Lewis Young (drums), the band has undergone several line-up changes, welcoming instrumentalists such as guitarists Ben Smith and SJ Nelson, Rob Smoughton (drums), as well as touring collaborators including Melinda Bronstein (vocals, percussion), Laura Copsey (flugelhorn), Daniel Fordham (saxophone), Irina Shtreis (keyboards) and Mike Cranny (guitar). The Leaf Library's albums released on various labels include Different Activities, Similar Diversions (2011), Daylight Versions (2015), About Minerals (2019), The World Is a Bell (2019) and After the Rain, Strange Seeds (2026). In 2022, the band collaborated with Teruyuki Kurihara on the album Melody Tomb.
