The Jammers were an American boogie band led by Richie Weeks, a producer and vocalist who had previously worked with Weeks & Co, along with members from various Salsoul Records acts and Instant Funk. Members included bassist Raymond Earl, keyboardist Dennis Richardson, drummer Scotty Miller, and saxophonist Roy Nathanson. Their breakthrough came with the single "Be Mine Tonight", released in 1982 on Salsoul Records, which reached number 76 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number 37 on the US Dance Club Songs chart. Their other single that year, "And You Know That", reached number 19 on the US Dance chart. The group’s eponymous album was released in 1982.
