Maryanne Ito, born in 1983 in Fort Riley, Kansas, is an American soul singer and songwriter. Raised in California, American Samoa, and Honolulu, Hawaii, she began her music career as a backup singer for her elder brother Bless'd Chil' in 2006. This led to collaborations with Slapp Symphony, including the track "With You". In 2014, Ito released her debut album Waking Up, which peaked at number 4 on the UK Soul Chart and won Best R&B Album of the Year at the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in May 2015. She also won Best Pacific/International Artist at the Pacific Music Awards the same year. Ito has toured extensively, including performances with The Astatine Collective and in solo shows across Europe.
