Els Biesemans is a Belgian pianist and organist, born in 1978 in Antwerp. She studied at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven and earned a Master of Music with high distinction in both piano and organ. She performed Johann Sebastian Bach's complete organ works in Zürich in 2006/2007. She has held positions as titular organist at various churches, including the Van-Bever-Orgel in Brussels and Maria Krönung in Zürich-Witikon. Since 2010, she has been the artistic director of Musik in der Bühlkirche and the Zürcher Hammerklavierfestival. Notable performances include appearances at the Philharmonie Berlin, Tonhalle Zürich, and Bachfest Leipzig. Her discography includes Symphonic Organ Music From Brussels & Paris (2006) and recordings for Genuin Classics featuring works by Fanny Hensel and Franz Liszt's transcriptions of Schubert, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and Chopin songs.
