Eduardo Egüez is an Argentine lutenist, theorbist, and guitarist born in 1959 in Buenos Aires. He studied guitar with Miguel Angel Girollet and Eduardo Fernández before studying composition at the Catholic Argentine University. Egüez earned a diploma in lute performance from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in 1995 under Hopkinson Smith. Highly regarded for his interpretations of the works of J.S. Bach, he has performed solo recitals across South America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Egüez received awards from Promociones Musicales in 1984 and the Concours International de Guitare in Paris in 1986. He serves as a professor of lute and basso continuo at the Zürich Conservatory and founded the ensemble La Chimera. His discography includes the 2000 release The Lute Music of Johann Sebastian Bach and the 2011 album Odisea Negra. With La Chimera, he recorded Buenos Aires Madrigal, a fusion of Italian madrigals and Argentine tango. Egüez released the album 'O felice occhi miei' in 2024.
