Thurisaz, a Belgian metal band, was formed in 1997 in Wervik, Belgium, and initially consisted of Peter Theuwen (grunts, clean voice, guitar), Mattias Theuwen (screams, guitar, vocals), Pepijn De Raeymaecker (drums), and Lars Vereecke, later joined by Kobe Cannière (keyboards, clean voice) in 1999. The group released the album Scent of a Dream in 2004. Subsequent releases included Circadian Rhythm (2007), The Cimmerian Years (2011), The Pulse of Mourning (2015), and Re‑Incentive (2020). Notable collaborations featured Paul Kuhr and Thomas A.G. Jensen on guest vocals, and the band opened for/supported Novembers Doom, Saturnus, and Oceans of Sadness. Thurisaz disbanded in 2024, with final performances held in Belgium and Turkey.
