Bonnie Owens, born Bonnie Campbell in Blanchard, Oklahoma, on October 1, 1929, was an American country singer. She began performing with Buck Owens in Mesa, Arizona, before recording her first single, "A Dear John Letter", on Mar‑Vel Records in 1953. Owens signed with Capitol Records and released the album Don't Take Advantage of Me in 1965, followed by All of Me Belongs to You (1967) and Somewhere Between (1968). She collaborated extensively with Merle Haggard, recording the duet hit "Just Between the Two of Us" and touring with the Strangers. Owens notably earned the Academy of Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year award in 1965. She passed away on April 24, 2006, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
