Louise Lightner Post, born on December 7, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, is an American musician. She co-founded the alternative rock band Veruca Salt with Nina Gordon in Chicago in 1992. The band released a self-funded demo tape and began playing small club shows before signing to Minty Fresh Records. Their debut single "Seether" was followed by their first full-length album American Thighs (1994), which peaked at number 69 on the Billboard chart and was certified Gold. Veruca Salt's second album, Eight Arms to Hold You (1997), included the hit "Volcano Girls", used as the opening theme for the film Jawbreaker. The band went dormant in 2007 but reunited in 2013, releasing Ghost Notes (2015). Post also released solo material, including the EP But I Love You Without Mascara (Demos '97-'98) (2022) and the album Sleepwalker (2023).
