Skop is a German ska and reggae band from Elmshorn formed in 1999. Founded by vocalist and songwriter Michael Ramm, a former saxophonist for the group The Monroes, the ensemble consists of 11 members. The group’s musical style incorporates elements of jazz and pop. The band released its debut studio album, Scary, in 2000. Their recording history also featured the studio albums Take Off (2005) and Ska 'n' Roll (2009). The latter records featured lyrics focused on political and social themes, including the tracks “War Inna Babylon” and “Another Perfect Day”. During its career, the ensemble has performed as a support act for international groups including Bad Manners and The Skatalites. In 2008, the band appeared at the Rock for People Festival in the Czech Republic. The group subsequently issued the maxi-CD Te quiero (2010) to support the charity Viva con Agua and released the DVD Skop zum Gucken (2010), featuring an unplugged concert recorded at the Nikolaikirche.
