Gary “Lil G” Jenkins is an American musician from Nashville, Tennessee. He began singing in church at age seven, leading to a soloist role on BET’s The Bobby Jones Gospel Show and early proficiency on guitar, keyboards, and drums. In 1992, he joined Keith Sweat’s group Silk as lead vocalist; the debut album Lose Control produced the hits “Freak Me” and “Lose Control”, and Silk sold over five million records worldwide. After touring internationally, Jenkins left Silk in 2002 and released his independent solo album The Other Side (2005). He later performed with the R&B supergroup Blayse and re‑united with Silk for tours and a 2006 Sweat Hotel DVD.
