Space Needle was an American experimental rock group founded in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1994 by Jud Ehrbar and Jeff Gatland, who initially recorded on four‑track tape. The band expanded with Anders Parker after the release of their debut album, Voyager, in 1995. Space Needle released their second album, The Moray Eels Eat the Space Needle, in 1997, featuring the track "Never Lonely Alone" that would later be included in Steven Okazaki’s documentary Black Tar Heroin: The Dark End of the Street and the Veronica Mars episode “Charlie Don’t Surf.” The group disbanded in 1997, with the compilation Recordings 1994‑1997 issued in 2006.
