Johannette Zomer, born March 13, 1964, in Wierden, Netherlands, is a Dutch soprano known for her Baroque repertoire. After working as a microbiologist for several years, she studied voice at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, graduating in June 1997, and later trained with Diane Forlano, Claudia Visca, and Marlena Malas. Her operatic debut came in October 1996 as Tebaldo in Verdi's opera Don Carlos with the Nationale Reisopera d’Enschede. She released albums such as Splendore di Roma (2003), Nuove musiche (2005), and L'Esprit Galant (2007), collaborating with ensembles including Collegium Vocale Gent, L’Arpeggiata, and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. From 2001 to 2007, she recorded 17th-century works with lutenist Fred Jacobs, and in 2013 she founded the Tulipa Consort.
