Removal is a Canadian progressive metal and experimental music group formed in 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded by guitarist Bill Johnston, bassist Rob Clark, and drummer Ernie Hawkins, the band is known for its instrumental compositions, releasing studio albums without permanent vocalists. Instead, Removal occasionally collaborated with other artists who added lyrics and vocals to existing tracks, while the band’s live performances relied on projected text and images rather than microphones. They toured extensively in Europe, maintaining equipment in Amsterdam for annual tours. Their discography includes Hello, My Name is Irrelevant (1999), There Can Be Only None (2001), The Strong, Silent Type (2004), Remove All (2007), and(2007).
