Atlantean Kodex, a German heavy metal band from Vilseck in Bavaria, was formed in 2005 by Manuel Trummer and Florian Kreuzer. Their first release, The Pnakotic Demos, was a demo EP released in 2007. The band gained traction performing at notable underground festivals such as Keep It True and Hammer of Doom. Their debut album, The Golden Bough, was released in 2010 under Cruz del Sur Music and received critical acclaim, winning "Album of the Year" in several online communities. In 2013, their second studio album, The White Goddess, also garnered high praise from critics. In 2019, Michael Koch left the band due to health issues and was replaced by Coralie Baier. Their third studio album, The Course of Empire, was released in September 2019 and reached number 49 on the German album charts.
