Luc De Vos, born in 1962 in Wippelgem near Ghent, Belgium, was a singer known for his contributions to alternative rock and rock music. With his original band Gorky, De Vos finished third in Humo's Rock Rally in 1990, bringing Dutch-language rock music to wider attention. After Gorky disbanded in 1993, De Vos continued under the name Gorki, releasing multiple albums and singles that charted in Flanders. Notable songs include "Mia", which became one of the most popular songs in Flanders and gained a cult following in the Netherlands. He died in 2014 due to acute organ failure.
