Mārtiņš Freimanis, born on February 7, 1977, in Liepāja, Latvia, was a musician and composer. He led the popular Latvian group Tumsa and recorded six albums under Microphone Records. Freimanis represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the group F.L.Y. and their song "Hello From Mars", and he composed the song "The War Is Not Over" for the Latvian representatives Valters and Kaža in 2005. He was admitted to the Latvian Infectology Center in Riga on January 18, 2011, with a severe respiratory tract infection and passed away on January 27, 2011.
