Darrell Nulisch, born on September 14, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, is an American electric blues singer and harmonica player. He grew up listening to soul and R&B artists such as Otis Redding and Al Green. In 1981, he cofounded Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, performing with the band until 1985. He then joined Mike Morgan & The Crawl, followed by Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters in 1988, with whom he recorded two albums. In late 1990, he launched his solo career and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, where he was subsequently hired by James Cotton to tour as the lead vocalist of the James Cotton Band. His solo discography includes Business as Usual (1991), recorded with his backing band Texas Heat, and Bluesoul (1996). Under the label Severn Records, he released the albums Whole Truth (1998), I Like It That Way (2000), Times Like These (2003), Goin' Back to Dallas (2007), and Just for You (2009), the latter of which earned a four-star review from AllMusic. His subsequent albums include the live release One Night in Boston (2014) and the studio album The Bigtone Sessions, Volume One (2018).
