Angeline Morrison

Angeline Morrison, born to a Jamaican mother and a Scottish father from the Outer Hebrides, is a British multi-instrumentalist singer and academic who entered the music scene at age 17 after attending a folk club. She released the album Are You Ready Cat? in 2013 and followed with her 2022 albums, The Brown Girl and Other Folk Songs and The Sorrow Songs: Folk Songs of Black British Experience, which was produced by Eliza Carthy and featured the song “Unknown African Boy (d.1830)”. She collaborated with Nick Duffy in the duo We Are Muffy, recorded with The Rowan Amber Mill as Rowan: Morrison, and performed under the moniker The Ambassadors of Sorrow. Her album Ophelia, first released online in 2022, received a physical release in 2024.
