Born on 10 November 1972 in Norwich, Norfolk, Dominic Anthony is a well-known voice and face on British television and radio, having worked as a BBC newsreader and presenter since 1997. After starting out as a freelance reporter, he took his first career steps working in the zoo format Chris Moyles Show for BBC Radio 1, during which he interviewed a slew of celebrities from Tom Cruise to Goldie Lookin' Chain, before branching out to newsreading in the mid-2000s, presenting Newsbeat's Oddbox video clip show on BBC News. He later joined Capital FM London in 2013 to read the news on their flagship breakfast show before leaving the station the following year and joining Chris Moyles on the Radio X Breakfast Show when it launched in 2015. In January 2023, Dominic Byrne made his songwriting debut with the release of "Holy Water" (featuring Abigail DB), which he had written at least two decades ago. Boosted by the backing of Chris Moyles, who launched a campaign on his breakfast show, the single reached number one on the iTunes chart and 97 on the official UK chart, and was also the second-highest new entry in the UK Big Top 40 chart, reaching number 23.
