Born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 12, 1983, Kimberly Perry is a singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of The Band Perry. Over the years, she has built her career at the intersection of country storytelling, pop ambition, and roots-rock energy. Raised in a musical household, she began writing songs as a teenager and quickly developed a reputation for candid, emotionally precise lyrics delivered with theatrical flair. Alongside her brothers Reid and Neil, she formed The Band Perry. The group broke through nationally with “If I Die Young,” a career-defining hit that showcased Perry’s ability to turn vulnerability into power. The group became a multi‑platinum success and earned major awards and industry recognition. Subsequent singles like “Better Dig Two” and “Done” revealed a darker, more defiant edge, with Kimberly Perry leaning into themes of independence, resolve, and self‑definition. The Band Perry released two hit albums – The Band Perry (2010) and Pioneer (2013) – and won numerous honors from the Academy of Country Music Awards, the CMT Music Awards, the Country Music Association Awards, the ACM Awards, and the Grammy Awards. The Band Perry began working on their third album, but it was never released. After nearly a decade of sporadically releasing singles, the band officially announced their hiatus in 2023. After stepping away from the band format that first brought her international recognition, Kimberly Perry began carving out a solo path rooted in pop songwriting, emotional clarity, and modern production. Free from the expectations of a group dynamic, she shifted toward a sound that foregrounds melody, intimacy, and narrative voice—drawing as much from contemporary pop as from the storytelling instincts that defined her earlier work. In 2023, Kimberly Perry released her debut EP, Bloom, which was then followed by the album Superbloom later the same year.
