Black Space Riders – A Journey Through Space, Time, and Sound
Founded in Münster in late 2008, Black Space Riders emerged from a deep desire to liberate heavy rock music from rigid genre boundaries, infusing it with emotion, psychedelia, and artistic consistency. What began in a dark rehearsal room quickly evolved into an intense live phenomenon—sweaty, high-energy concerts drenched in a shared, all-encompassing energy between the band, the music, and the audience.
Through pioneering albums like Light Is The New Black (2012), the raw, introspective milestone D:REI (2014), and the mature, melancholic Refugeeum (2015), the band built a deeply loyal, international fanbase. Respected for their uncompromising DIY attitude, they have always released their albums independently as part of a collectively grown movement. Following a pandemic-induced hiatus and their celebrated comeback We Have Been Here Before (2022), Black Space Riders are entering their next major chapter in 2026:
The new work, simply titled Die 8, channels a fresh, untamed energy. It presents itself as a shining, eclectic bastard bursting with playfulness, ingenuity, and attention to detail. Blending the best of multiple genres and different decades, the band shapes a sonic world entirely their own: psychedelic, heavy, danceable, at times delicate, at times fierce, but always deeply atmospheric, urgent, fluid, and accessible.
