Sven Joachim Eriksson Thåström, born 20 March 1957 in Sweden, emerged from Skebokvarnsvägen in Högdalen as a singer and songwriter. He first gained attention with the punk band Ebba Grön, where he served as vocalist and guitarist from 1977 until the group’s 1983 split. After a brief side project, he co‑founded the industrial‑rock outfit Peace Love & Pitbulls in 1992, releasing three studio albums before returning to solo work. Thåström’s solo debut, Thåström (1989), was followed by Xplodera mig 2000 (1991), a computer‑heavy record that paved the way for his 1992 band. In 1999, the Swedish‑language album Det är ni som e dom konstiga, det är jag som e normal achieved significant commercial success, reaffirming his rock roots. Subsequent releases-Mannen som blev en gris (2002), Skebokvarnsv. 209 (2005), Kärlek är för dom (2009), Beväpna dig med vingar (2012), Den morronen (2015), Centralmassivet (2017), Dom som skiner (2021) and Somliga av oss (2024)-displayed a blend of autobiographical lyricism and acoustic instrumentation. Thåström toured extensively, collaborating with notable Swedish acts and contributing to live DVDs such as Som jordgubbarna smakade… (2012). His work has earned critical acclaim and chart presence, solidifying his position as a significant figure in Swedish alternative rock.
