Homero Francesch, born on December 6, 1947, in Montevideo, Uruguay, is a classical music pianist who later became a Swiss citizen. Early instruction under Santiago Baranda Reyes led to a DAAD scholarship in 1967, after which he studied in Munich with Ludwig Hoffmann and Hugo Steurer. He gained recognition with the 1978 Deutscher Schallplattenpreis and a debut recording of Mozart piano sonatas for Kontrapunkt. He recorded for Deutsche Grammophon and Tudor Recording AG, covering works by Bach, Bartók, and Ravel. His career featured solo appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic, among others, and he served as artistic director of the Sommer Akademie Lenk and Viersener Musiksommer.
