Tim Reed, known as Reverend Fred Lane, is an American singer, songwriter, and artist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In the mid‑1970s, Lane became active in the University of Alabama’s conceptual scene, performing with the Raudelunas Marching Vegetable Band and later the Blue Denim Deals Without the Arms. His debut album, From the One That Cut You (1983), was released on Say Day Bew Records and credited to Fred Lane and Ron 'Pate's Debonairs. Lane followed with Car Radio Jerome (1988), featuring the Hittite Hot‑Shots and the parody track "The French Toast Man". After leaving the industry in the late 1980s, he returned briefly in 2019 with Icepick to the Moon (2019) on Feeding Tube Records, a title shared with a documentary about Lane, but unrelated to the soundtrack.
