Teun Verbruggen, born on April 10, 1975 in Brasschaat, Belgium, is a Belgian jazz musician. He began playing drums at eight and studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium under Hans van Oosterhout. After work with the Jef Neve Trio and the Pascal Schumacher Quartet, he joined the Flat Earth Society and contributed to Melanie De Biasio's 2007 debut album A Stomach Is Burning. He released Black Swan in 2012 and founded the label Rat Records. Verbruggen won the Tremplin Jazzwettbewerb three times, the Jazzmozaïek Award in 2013, and performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
