Satarial, a Russian metal band founded in 1989 by Andrey "Lord Seth" Shmelev under the initial name A.M.S.G. (Ad Maiorum Satan Glorium), later changed their name to Satarial in 1993. The group's music often incorporates Slavic themes such as pagan rituals, which has garnered both critical acclaim and controversy. Their debut album ...And The Flame Will Take The Temples Of Christ was released in 1996, followed by notable works such as The Queeen Of The Elves' Land (1998), Heidenlarm (2001), Tanz Mit... Tod... (2005), and Lunar Cross (2014). Satarial were vocal critics of the Russian government under Vladimir Putin, particularly after the 2014 invasion of Crimea. This stance led to fines, performance bans in Russia, and death threats against band members. In September 2021, the band emigrated to Poland.
