Crazy as Pinoy, a Filipino hip hop group from Marikina, Philippines, was formed in the 1990s. The group initially gained recognition after becoming one of the finalists on Eat Bulaga!'s rap battle segment, Rappublic of the Philippines. Their lineup featured members with alter egos loosely based on characters from José Rizal's novel, Noli Me Tángere. In 2014, Crazy as Pinoy released their self-titled album, which included notable tracks such as "Tayo Pa Kaya" and the Awit Award-winning song "Di Sinasadya". The group also contributed to the two volumes of Rappublic of the Philippines with songs like "Crazy Dance", "Huwad", and "Panaginip". They cited influences from the late Francis Magalona, who acted as their mentor.
