Edwin Rivera Rodríguez is a Puerto Rican salsa and merengue singer. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, on October 14, 1970, Rivera studied at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. He began his career working as a trumpeter and backing vocalist for Tito Rojas. In 1993, Rivera launched his solo career with the album Dame Un Día Más, which featured the single "Yo Soy Tú". He followed with the album Contigo in 1994. The album sold over 50,000 copies, earned a gold certification, and produced the singles "Mi niña mimada" and "Baby, baby, baby". In 1995, Rivera released the album Baby, Baby, Baby. He transitioned from salsa to merengue with the album Edwin in 1999, which featured the single "No quiero verla". That same year, Rivera also released the compilation album Reencuentro: Sus Grandes Éxitos. He subsequently issued the albums Con Más Fuerza in 2007 and Éxitos Bailables de Merengue in 2007, and released the single "Qué Tienes Tú" in 2019.
