Pianist and singer Angelina Wismes came to prominence in 2013, when she took part in the second season of The Voice, la plus belle voix, where her interpretations of Barbara ("Mon enfance") and Mecano ("Hijo de la Luna") won the public's approval, but the performer, supported by Garou, was unable to reach the final. On the strength of this experience, the native of La Baule (Loire-Atlantique) continues to perform on stage, as she has done since the age of eighteen, when she left home to earn her living in Parisian cabarets and piano bars. At the same time, Angelina Wismes is preparing her first album, À Barbara..., which, as its title suggests, is a tribute to the "brown lady", her main influence. The result was released on the Muse Compagnie label in May 2015.
