Alexis King de Azevedo, known professionally as Lex De Azevedo, was born on January 14, 1943, in Los Angeles, California. He is an American composer, songwriter, and pianist. De Azevedo began his career producing albums for Capitol Records during the 1960s. His breakthrough came with the hit version of "Nobody but Me" by the Human Beinz, which reached number 8 in 1968. De Azevedo composed scores for several films, including Where the Red Fern Grows (1974), Against a Crooked Sky (1975), and The Swan Princess (1994). For the latter, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1995 for the song "Far Longer than Forever". He also produced music for television shows such as The Sonny & Cher Show, and worked with notable artists like Michael Jackson. De Azevedo's work includes albums such as Saturday's Warrior (1974) and Our Own Kind Of Music (1983).
