Arabs in Aspic, a progressive rock band from Norway, was formed in 1997 by Jostein Smeby and Tommy Ingebrigtsen. The duo expanded to include Magnar Krutvik on Hammond organ, Eskil Nyhus on drums, and Terje Nyhus on bass. Inspired by King Crimson’s album Larks’ Tongues in Aspic and a cricket book titled Arabs in Aspic, the band released their debut album, Progeria, in 2003, followed by Far Out in Aradabia in 2004. After a hiatus, the band reformed as Arabs in Aspic II in 2006 and released Strange Frame of Mind in 2010, which was critically acclaimed. The band dropped the "II" from their name and continued with notable albums such as Victim of Your Father’s Agony (2015) and Madness & Magic (2020). Long-time live and session percussionist Alessandro Elide also became a permanent member in 2019.
