Waterfront, a Welsh pop duo comprising Philip Laurence Cilia and Christopher James Duffy, formed in 1987. The duo met their manager, John Newman, while recording demos at his Cardiff studio, Music Factory. In 1987, Waterfront were signed to EMI/SBK Productions by Charles Kopelman and Marty Bandier. They achieved chart success in both the US and the UK with their debut self-titled album Waterfront, released in 1989. The album featured notable singles such as "Cry", which reached number 17 in the UK and number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and "Nature of Love". Waterfront became one of the first Welsh duos to crack the US top 10 single chart and were named BMI Songwriters of the Year in 1990. In 2000, the pair reunited for a one-off online concert. Seven years later, released new single Valentine's Day". Their album Ghosts of the Good was released in November 2011 by Chordamundo Records.
