Blindead, a Polish progressive and death-doom metal band from Gdynia, was founded in 1999 by bassist Michał "Winters" Zimorski and guitarist Mateusz "Havoc" Śmierzchalski under the name Incorrect Personality. After releasing a demo in 2000, the band began work on their first album but faced setbacks when vocalist Patryk Adamczyk left. In 2004, they changed their name to Blindead and released the demo Dig for Me. The band's debut album, Devouring Weakness, was released in 2006 by Empire Records. Following a tour through Poland, bassist Rafał "Brovar" Brauer left and was replaced by Piotr "Zvierzak" "The Animal" Kawalerowski. In August 2008, Blindead signed with Deadline Records and released Autoscopia: Murder in Phazes. Subsequent releases include Impulse (2009), Affliction XXIX II MXMVI (2010), and Absence (2013) under Mystic Production.
