ApeCrime was a German comedy and music trio consisting of Cengiz Dogrul, Andre Schiebler, and Jan-Christoph Meyer. Originating from Stadthagen, Germany, the group began producing videos on YouTube in 2008 under the channel "ApeCrime." After relocating to Hamburg for their studies in acting and directing, they moved to Cologne in 2012 to focus more intently on their online content. Their breakthrough came with the release of their first single "Ich trau mich nicht" in August 2013, which reached number 35 on the German Single-Charts. The trio's subsequent releases included "Swing Dein Ding"and "Füße hoch", as well as the album Affenbande. They embarked on their first tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in support of Affenbande. In 2014, ApeCrime won the 1LIVE Krone award. The group's final studio album, EXIT, was released in March 2017, marking a shift towards a more music-focused direction. However, internal differences led to their disbandment in December 2019, with each member pursuing individual projects.
