Aleksey is a German rapper and DJ born in 1977 on the West Coast of Africa as Alexander Preik. He grew up in Braunschweig and joined the metal-crossover group Phase V during his youth. At seventeen he became a member of the ensemble Jazzkantine and performed roughly 200 shows annually. His recording career includes the debut studio recording Aleksey (1995) and the singles "55555" (1995) and "Der, der gerne anders wär" (1995). In 1996 he released the singles "Come into My Life" (1996) and "I Need Your Loving" (1996). His discography includes the studio recording Mikrokosmos (1998) and the single "Hass mich" (1998). Aleksey achieved professional recognition for the single "Millennium – Der Countdown läuft …" (1999), which reached number 12 in Germany and number 41 in Switzerland. In 2000 he released the studio recording Weltpremiere (2000) and the single "Wen soll ich förchten" (2000). His recording career includes the single "Sonnenschein & Pläne" (2004) and a 1996 Echo award for "Beste Jazzproduktion" with Jazzkantine.
