nnercity Ensemble is a Polish experimental group formed in 2011 by Jakub Ziołek, Rafał Iwański, Radosław Dziubek, Wojciech Jachna, Rafał Kołacki, Artur Maćkowiak, and Tomasz Popowski. The ensemble originated from a three-day improvisational recording session at the Mózg club in Bydgoszcz, bringing together musicians associated with the experimental scenes of Bydgoszcz and Toruń. Their music combines collective improvisation with elements of jazz, post-rock, minimalism, electronics, and percussion-based music. Recordings from the original session formed their debut album, Katahdin, released in 2012. The group followed it with II in 2014 and III in 2016. III received international attention and was ranked third on The Quietus's list of the best albums of 2016. Innercity Ensemble released their fourth album, IV, in 2019.
