Fred Guichen

Frédéric Guichen is a French accordionist born in France in 1972. Guichen performs Celtic and Breton music and specializes in the diatonic accordion. In 1986, Guichen co-founded the group Ar Re Yaouank with his brother Jean-Charles Guichen. The ensemble released recordings including Sidwel (1989), Fest-Noz Still Alive (1992), and Breizh Positive (1994). After the group became inactive in 1998, Guichen pursued a solo career with the recording La Lune Noire (1998). Guichen collaborated with Alan Stivell on the album Back to Breizh (2000) and formed the quartet Guichen, which released the albums Frères (2004) and Dreams of Brittany (2007). Guichen's solo discography includes Le Voyage Astral (2013) and Dor An Enez (2018), the latter of which received the Prix Musical Produit en Bretagne in 2018.
