The Iron City Houserockers were an American rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1976 by Joe Grushecky, a high school special education teacher and guitarist, the group initially performed as the Brick Alley Band. In 1977, they signed with Cleveland International Records and were renamed the Iron City Houserockers. Their debut album, Love's So Tough, was released in 1979, featuring standout tracks "Hideaway" and "Dance With Me". The band's second album, Have a Good Time (But Get Out Alive!) (1980), received critical acclaim, including a showcase review in Rolling Stone magazine. In 1983, they changed their name to the Houserockers and released Cracking Under Pressure. Despite critical success, the band disbanded in 1984 after being dropped from MCA Records. Joe Grushecky continued his career with collaborations including co-writing songs with Bruce Springsteen.
