Manfred Maurenbrecher, born on May 2, 1950, in Berlin, is a German singer-songwriter and writer. He began his musical journey with piano lessons and an early appreciation for poets like Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. In 1977, he co-founded the music group Trotz & Träume, which released an LP in 1979. Maurenbrecher's breakthrough came when Herwig Mitteregger offered collaboration for a professional solo program and album after being impressed by his performance. His debut album Maurenbrecher was released in 1982, followed by notable albums such as Feueralarm (1983), Viel Zu Schön (1985), and Schneller Leben (1986). Maurenbrecher's career includes significant collaborations with artists like Herman van Veen and Katja Ebstein, as well as contributions to the television series Cobra 11. His album Inneres Ausland, released in 2020, featured the song "Jetzt auf einmal geht’s", which topped the German song charts in May 2020.
