Winfried Lüssenhop, known professionally as Wyn Hoop, was born on May 29, 1936, in Hanover, Germany. He began his musical journey at 12 with piano and guitar lessons, forming the jazz band Die Capitellos in the early 1950s. His breakthrough came in 1960 when he won the German pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with "Bonne nuit ma chérie", securing fourth place internationally. This marked the start of his solo career, during which he issued several releases, including "Im Land meiner Träume", and collaborated with Pirkko Mannola on the song "Mama will dich seh’n" at the Deutsche Schlager-Festspiele in 1962. In 1964, he began a musical partnership with his wife, Andrea Horn, releasing albums under the name Wyn und Andrea. Their performances focused on folklore and traditional music, leading to concert tours both domestically and internationally. Both Wyn Hoop and Andrea Horn retired from the music industry in 1978, focusing on writing and publishing.
