The Dreams was a Faroese punk rock band from Tórshavn Faroe Islands formed in 2006. The group consisted of Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen, and Eirikur Gilstón Corfitz Andersen who formed the band following the dissolution of their previous group Zink. After being selected to compete on the MTV Europe program “A Cut”, the members travelled individually to Copenhagen Denmark and finished the competition in third place. In 2006, the band released the cover album Tazy which featured Faroese songs including the track “Sasasa”. Later that year they placed third at the Global Battle of the Bands where they met producer Lars Pedersen. In 2007, Heini Gilstón Corfitz Andersen joined the lineup. The following year, the band competed in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with the single “La' mig være” (2008) which reached Number 1 on the Danish charts and finished fourth in the competition. They released the Danish-language album Den Nye By in 2008, and continued releasing singles that reached Number 1 including “Himlen Falder/Helvede Kalder” and “Backstabber”. The Dreams issued the English-language album Revolt in 2010, which featured the Number 1 single “Under The Sun”. The group played a final concert on 5 September 2014.
