Hot Pants Road Club is an Austrian funk and soul band from Weibern, founded in 1987 by brothers Andreas, Christian, and Franz Roitinger, along with Thomas Wimmer. After an initial experimental phase involving Andreas Roitinger and vocalist Peter Mayr, the group established itself as an 11-piece orchestra featuring lead singers Andie Gabauer and Diana Jirkuff. The ensemble released its debut studio album, Lifetime, in 1998, featuring the trombonist Fred Wesley. The same year, the group achieved a hit with the single "Snatching It Back". Mayr, who had served as the band's manager, left the ensemble in 1994. The group's subsequent discography includes the live album Live... (1996) and the studio albums HPRC (1998) and Hot (2001). Following a period of inactivity between 2003 and 2005, the band resumed activity and released the album Saint Here in 2007. In 2008, the group toured with an eight-member brass section under the name Hot Pants Road Club’s Grand Funk Orchestra, later releasing a live album under that title in 2009. The band’s later releases include the album Uhlala! (2012).
