Lucas Macías Navarro, born August 11, 1978, in Huelva, Spain, is a Spanish oboist and conductor. Widely regarded as one of the world's leading oboists, he studied at the conservatories of Zurich and Freiburg under Thomas Indermühle and Heinz Holliger. Macías served as principal oboe with leading ensembles including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and Mozart Orchestra. He made his conducting debut at the Teatro Colón in 2014 and has since focused on conducting. In 2018, Macías was appointed principal conductor of the Oviedo Filarmonía. In 2020, he became artistic director of the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, and in 2024, he was named principal conductor of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.
