Mazowsze, officially known as Państwowy Zespół Ludowy Pieśni i Tańca "Mazowsze" im. Tadeusza Sygietyńskiego, is a Polish folk dance and song ensemble established by decree from the Ministry of Culture and Art on November 8, 1948. Founded by Professor Tadeusz Sygietyński to preserve regional artistic traditions, Mazowsze staged its premiere in Warsaw's Polish Theatre on November 6, 1950. The group began touring internationally in 1951, visiting the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics initially, and later expanding to Paris in 1954 and the USA in 1960. Notable albums include Lowiczanka (Lowicz Girl) (1976) and Boże Coś Polskę (1982). After Sygietyński's death, Mira Zimińska-Sygietyńska took over leadership, expanding the group’s repertoire to 39 ethnographic regions. Mazowsze appeared in several films, including Przygoda na Mariensztacie (1954) and Pan Tadeusz (1999). The ensemble gave around 6,000 concerts worldwide.
