Ruth-Margret Pütz, born Margret Doerkes in 1930 in Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany, was a German operatic coloratura soprano. She began her vocal training with Berthold Pütz in Düsseldorf and debuted at the Kölner Oper in 1949 as the Page in Rigoletto. After moving to the Hannover Opera House, she studied under Otto Köhler. In 1959, following a successful guest appearance as Konstanze in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Edinburgh, she debuted at the Württembergische Staatsoper Stuttgart as Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, leading to her appointment as Kammersängerin at age 29. Pütz began making guest appearances at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1958 before securing a permanent engagement there in 1962. She also sang at the Bayreuther Festspiele and Salzburg Festival. Her discography included recordings of the operas Der Postillon von Lonjumeau, Orfeo ed Euridice, and Die Zauberflöte. Pütz retired from the stage following the 1994–1995 season, having taught at the Musikhochschule Trossingen from 1989 to 1992. She died in 2019 in Stuttgart.
