Victor Eresko

Victor Eresko, born Victor Kondratievich Eresko on August 6, 1942 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, is a Soviet and Russian pianist. He studied under Lev Vlassenko and Heinrich Neuhaus. In 1963, he won first prize in the Long-Thibaud International Competition. Three years later, he secured third place at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Eresko's career flourished in the Soviet era, with notable performances and recordings that established him as a prominent figure in classical music. In 1973, he became the first musician in history to perform a cycle of all of Rachmaninoff’s piano works. Eresko was awarded the French Order of Arts and Letters in 1993.
